Sometimes we use the limitations of our past and our present circumstances to make excuses for what we can become. A few people have risen above their circumstances and have used their God given talents to step out of their limitations. Oprah Winfrey is one such person. When you see her, you may be tempted to think her life has always been a bed of roses. Hear her story
Her parents were unmarried teenagers. Her mother was a housemaid and her father a coal miner before he became a barber. She spent the first six years of her life living in poverty with her kind hearted grandmother. Then she moved to live with her mother. By 9, three male relatives molested her over a period of time. Meanwhile she did well in school but soon ran away from home. She became pregnant at 14 but lost the baby after birth. Then she started living with her father. He was strict but encouraged her to make education a priority.
Her media career began at age 17 when she worked at a local radio station while attending Tennessee State University. And that is where it all started from
Today she is the only black person wealthy enough to rank among Americas 400 richest people. She is the worlds most influential woman and one of the 100 people who has most influenced the 20th century. All this from a woman who started with nothing.
Her genius is that SHE MAKES PEOPLE CARE BECAUSE SHE CARES.
