Someone once said that one of our problems is that Nigeria lacks national principles. A political office holder is caught stealing public funds and he continues in office unashamed. This happens all the time. The same office holders have a flowing stream of girlfriends with whom he shares his booty for illicit favours.

This is one of the reasons why sometimes we find it difficult to get the right man for the job. Most of our positions are being filled by people whose qualification is not that they are qualified but that they have the right contacts.

Hopefully, events like this will on the long run begin to influence the Nigerian political landscape.
