The Four Gethsemane Boys

I have every reason to give thanks to God. I pastor the teens church in RCCG Gethsemane Parish. A few Sundays ago I got news that everyone who is responsible for other people, fears to receive. Four of our teenagers had a motor accident. The Danfo bus was on Western Avenue when it was said to have somersaulted across the middle barrier and on its way to falling into the canal. Somehow a car on the other side blocked its path and stopped what would have been a fatal plunge.

This young pretty Liberian lady caught my attention on TV when she auditioned for the West African Idol Competition in Calabar. I dont have full details of her story but I can just imagine. Shes 23 now, so she must have been about 6years old when the war started in 1990. She wrote the song she sang at the audition and it was a tribute to her mother who died in the war.

What struck me was the power of our God given talent. If only we can identify it, nurture it and find an outlet for expression; then the sky is the limit. From a literal nowhere, this young girl was chosen as one of the top 24 singers in West Africa.
